Spencer turned 6! I can't believe he has grown so much! He came home from school and told me that he invited his whole school bus over for a birthday party. I didn't think much of it until we starting getting knocks on the door. We had quite the party. I took dinner to a family that night and so I had a little bit left over, so we hurried and pulled it together to have dinner and games and a treasure hunt. We had a good time on the spot!

He has become such a good brother and has grown so well. He loves reading books and playing games, he loves people! He is such a delight to have around our house and in our family. We love you Spencer!

Spencers First day of school

Spencer was so excited to start school! We got to go and meet his teacher and get him comfortable with his class on the first day, as I was leaving he whispered in my ear ' is it ok to be a little bit nervous?" Kind of a weird moment to see your kid start school. I am proud of him. He has excelled so well and it has been so fun to watch him grow and love his teacher and class.

An experience to remember

I remember back when I was trying to picture what it would be like to see Jake walk across the stage and receive his white coat. I cannot explain how deeply proud I am of him. Working hard and being patient as the Lord timing was most important for us! I Love Jake and am proud of what he has done, and what he is doing. We are excited to see whats in store for us. I'm sure ups and downs are on their way, but I know we will have some wonderful good times. We were surprised by Jakes Mom and My Mom coming to support him. WE love you both so much and a grateful for your support!

We went to the zoo and it was so HOT! The kids had a fun time. The traffic was so bad, that we got to the zoo with only 40 min left before it closed. I decided we drove there, got the kids ready, we were going to visit the zoo. We did and it was rushed, but we had a great time.

We live close to many parks and Spencer Beach. The kids love going to play at the playgrounds and play in the water. Spencer Beach has a great area for the kids to play in the water with life guards and lots of space for the kids to run and have fun. We love it there.

I have been wanting to go on bike rides now that it is finally warming up. I told Jake I will never be able to go out because I can't fit all of the kids. Well that was just an excuse Jake told me, so he got to work and came up with this......... now I can take my whole family on a ride, I can't wait to see good ol Michigan's reaction to a mom riding down the road with her limo-bike!

Spencer played soccer this year. It was fun to watch him try to learn/be taught to play and work with a team. It was a huge team and not too organized and so they didn't get to have a " Team", it was different every week, but they had fun.

After a lot of hard work and waiting and praying, we are finally going to medical school! Jake interviewed like crazy this year and he got in to a few different places. We felt good about Michigan and are very excited to go!

Jake announced to us he got in by a doctor pinata and a slip of paper inside the pinata letting me know after the kids attacked and went crazy I found it while cleaning up. I am so proud of all his hard work, and thankful for the Lords hand in our life. It has been a long time coming, but the things we have learned and gained in the process have been invaluable and we are just excited for the next step in our lives.

Well he is finally here! After a long bed rest and wonderful friends and neighbors and family here to help us, Samuel came at a whopping 8lbs 3oz on Feb 17! Much bigger than the rest of the kids. He is a doll, and we love him. Thank you everyone sooooooo much for your prayers and help and love. He has been well worth it!!

The local fire station had an open house and invited public in to have breakfast made by the firemen and then let the kids play in the firetrucks. The kids were in heaven, nothing better than being in a real firetruck!

I came outside to see that Jake was teaching Spencer how to drive the tractor and plow our garden. He asked what lever was what, and how to stop and then he was off, it was amazing how fast he picked it up and learned.

The kids came outside to see their bikes ready to be eaten by the excavator. Baylie is still having bad dreams about the excavator coming to eat all her toys! I guess Grandpa taught a good lesson on putting your toys where they belong!

Easter and Conference weekend

We had family come for Easter and Conference weekend. We love having visitors!

We had a pinata for the kids to break on Easter. Thanks Josh and Tacey for the goodies to stuff inside, and mom and Tiff for helping to make the pinata.

A sweet, wonderful mother in law

My wonderful mother in law, gave me a much needed break and watched the kids so that I was able to go to Womens Conference with my mom and sisters, and A few aunts. It was a wonderful time. I felt like I soaked up every single word I heard. It was so nice to be there and to be rejuvenated to go back home and be a good mom and wife. Despite staying up all night the first night to get one of my finals papers done. Thanks Tiff for helping me and Heidi for your computer.

Baylie turned three in March. She is so fun, and lively! The other day I was taking a nap and Baylie woke me up to tell me that I had fallen asleep without a blankie. She hurried and wrapped one around me, rubbed my cheek and told me I could go back to sleep. She is such a good little mother and she is such a joy to have in the family!
I was also cleaning through some of my storage and we found my wedding dress. She asked if we could dress up and dance, so that is what we did!

Chicken incubation time!

Jake and Spencer spent time making a homemade incubator to hatch some chickens. Spencer was awesome about turning them daily and keeping temp. just right. Total bummer, we only had one hatch and the kids named it Scottie, he only lived a few days. We will get it figured out. They all developed but didn't hatch. Sorry for the kind of yucky picture. I want the kids to remember how amazed they were to see these chickens develop.

For FHE we got to plant some of our garden. The kids loved to play in the dirt. We had a great time! I love gardens and seeing the miracle of the plants growing daily. Can't wait to eat it!!!

I don't know what it is, but Baylie has become real intrigued by Jon Schmidt. She is always acting like she is playing the piano like him. When I was at my parents house I kept finding her trying to play the piano like him (upside down.)

Her Grandma Bingham took her to his concert a little while ago. They were front and center! She loved it! I think I need to get this girl into some piano lessons. I think she would love it.

New Years 2010

This New Years I realized I am getting old and loosing my mind. Jake got called into work and wasn't going to be getting home until late. I felt bad because I had not planned anything. I was putting the kids to bed and felt like a totally lame Mom because all we did was make homemade pizza's and bang pans at like 10:00. The kids were in bed and then Jake came home, I gave him a kiss and wished him a happy new year! He looked at me kind of weird and said, "Jamie today is not new years, it is tomorrow!" well I felt so dumb. I was also relieved because I got a second chance.

We went to Jakes parents farm out in Jensen and got pulled around on the tubes. Great fun! Then went and had dinner and pinata fun! Happy New year!

Back on Land

We had a few days after we got back on land. We spent the evening riding a bike along Hollywood beach boardwalk, and relaxed. We got to go to church and go to a fireside Brad Wilcox gave. We had a fabulous time, but we missed being home and missed the kids like crazy. Thank you Jake for the wonderful memories!

Bahamas 3rd stop

On the third stop to the Bahamas we decided to just relax. We walked through the town and over the bridge to Atlantica, quite the place. It was a very pretty resort. Then we just played on the beach in the waves the rest of the day! We had a great time, in fact we had to run fast so we wouldn't miss our ship back home.

This is a group of many cruise ships at port, I look like I am sleeping!

San Juan Puerto Rico 2nd stop

Our second stop was in San Juan. One of the couples we met on the ship invited us to go with them. We were picked up at port and drove for about 45 min to the rain forest. We stopped at a local farmer on the side of the road and they bought mango's. Then we drove up into the forest on these winding little roads. When we got there they harnessed us up and we climbed up all of these beautiful fresh spring-water waterfalls. It was beautiful with different fruit hanging from the trees and vines everywhere and all the different sounds we've never heard before. We were able to swim and wade in the pools of the different water falls. When we reached the top they had mangos cut up on banana leaves for us.
Then we zip lined back and forth across the rain forest all the way down. It was exhilarating, so scary and so fun! We also got to pick tangerines off the tree-so so yummy! When we were finished, a local family had us over to their home for a authentic home cooked meal. It was absolutely wonderful! They had the different fruits from the trees cooked up in all these yummy different ways- This was the highlight of our trip!
We got back to port and got to walk their cute little cobble street shops. We loved San Juan it was wonderful!

Virgin Islands St Thomas

Our first port was St Thomas. We got off the ship and decided to walk through the city. We got on one of their local taxis and they took us to one of the local beaches so that we could snorkel. The people there were so nice, and everyone stopped to head us in the right direction, or to give us tips on where the best fish and clearest water could be seen.
It was so neat to snorkel. The water was so clear and beautiful and warm! We would hold a dog bone in our hand and let it crumble and the fish would literally come and eat out of our hands and swim all over us- it was amazing! While we were out in the water, a storm came in and pelted us with rain, it was so cool to be out in the warm ocean while cold rain was pouring down on us. We then walked awhile to another beach that was more resort/ with para-sailing, sailing, rainbows, waves. It was a totally different experience it was also very beautiful. We even saw a sign for the church on the side of the road as we were driving by.

OH did I mention... We got fried this first day!

I sure didn't take many of pictures aboard the cruise ship (food, shows, activities.) You think you do and when you get home you realize oops, I forgot to take a picture of that.

Here is some of the life aboard the ship. We got to meet some great people who sat with us at our dining table every night. We had a few fancy dinners(Jake got me a couple of pretty dresses.) We ate, relaxed by the pool, slept, saw some shows,etc.

Home sweet home for the next week!

We Got onto our ship "Costa Atlantica" and were at sea for 2 1/2 days. We got sea sick, a storm hit and we were tossing back and forth and back and forth, it was not good.
There was a lot of food, activities and entertainment all day and night long.

A trip to remember! Day 1&2

Jake took me on a wonderful, fun filled trip at the first of the month. We are so thankful to all of you, who were willing to help watch the kids. They ended up staying with Debbie, and I know they had a wonderful time.
We flew to Ft. Lauderdale and spent a few day driving down to the Keys, Everglades, air-boat rides through the glades, and shopping.

What we give thanks for!

I love Thanksgiving, and all that it represents. I love it even more, now that I have a family of my own. I am so thankful for children who daily remind of how lucky I am to be a mother. To be able to look into each of their eyes and see God's love for me. I have a wonderful husband who strives daily to make his wife and children happy, who also loves to serve the Lord, and for that I am truly thankful for him.
We got to spend Thanksgiving up in Paradise UT, This year with my Mom's side of the family. It was so good to see everyone. The family had decided since we would all be together that we should try to attempt to get pictures. So despite the preparation of trying to get the family ready, we missed out on talking with everyone that was there. I wished I could have talked with everyone.

I was kind of disappointed wishing for a "picture perfect" family picture, You know, those kind that you go ohhhh, well with three kids not wanting to stand still and a husband who "LOVES" the camera.....and yes, that is a aggies shirt, "go aggies"- we had a clothes issue also, We got some very individual pictures. I got home and looked at them feeling frustrated, and then it hit me, Jamie this is your family, this is their personalities, what more would you want to capture in a picture? So this is my family, and I love it, and I am thankful for it!

I have been lacking this last few months in posting blogs. It's not that I haven't had great memories that my family has been making, it's actually the opposite. We have had so much going on and happen it has been so fun.
With inner battles and the path didn't seem to logically make sense, and with three kids and a super busy husband and life, the spirit guided me, and us with the stumbling blocks being opened one at a time for me to go back to school and finish. It has been a crazy blessing! I have cried more in the last few months from being so overwhelmed, to being so grateful for this experience. I have gained greater respect for those single moms who are full time students and full time mom. But the difference is I have an incredible husband, who has felt the need to do this for us also, and has picked up my slack and has become mom and dad. I COULD NOT do this without Jake! I love you, and am so grateful that you have given me this opportunity, even though it has required so much more of you then we ever expected.

I love the feeling of learning, I am taking physiology, anatomy, and physics. They are super hard classes. I think that is where the biggest blessing lye's though. It has pushed me harder than I ever have had to do in school. I have gained a greater respect for our maker, in the magnificence of the body, and what it is made up of and how it works.

People say it all the time, that they don't know what they did with their time before when they weren't so busy. I feel like our family accomplishes so much more, and we are more content. Life goes on, and it is what we do, or don't do with our time that is most remarkable, because there are so many directions that our time can take us.

Jake has been given the opportunity to work in the operating room at our local hospital. This position normally requires certain schooling and training. They have offered to train him on the job. He has loved being there, and also this has opened up time for him to be home with the kids more.

Happy Halloween

The kids were so excited for Halloween this year! We got to go to Grandmas and Grandpas for Orange and Black dinner, then head over to their trunk or treat. While we were leaving, Spencer approached a van that was opened with the dad at the drivers seat and the kids in the back, and asked, " excuse me sir, why is your car so messy, as we are trying to get away as fast as we could, as Spencer is continuing to say this over and over, he wanted a answer. I look at the mans face and he is looking at this boy like, "Who are you?" Wow, I love kids honesty and the way they can make you not be able to stop laughing of embarrassment.
I also took the kids to the library trick or treat. Of course Spencer was more interested in the outfits what were lining the halls. He watched carefully to see the ones he liked and then made sure he went up to each one and told them that he loved their outfit. I wish I could be like that and not be scared to go give a compliment that easy.
We continued throughout the rest of trick or treating and Spencer approached a cop, he must have been keeping track of what was given to him, because when the cop went to give him the treat Spencer looked real frustrated, with a reply to the cop, " Excuse me sir, I already have one of those that you are giving to me. The cop replied back with, "son, it's ok to have two of the same. Spencer replied back with, " But, you have some things in that basket that I haven't gotten yet, could I please have one of those instead?" The cop looked at me with a defeated look and handed it over to him, then Spencer looked up and said, "Thank you sir, have a nice day!" You can imagine how the line was backed up and the impatient kids behind us. I was so embarrassed and so proud of his persistence. Wow, I think I have some trouble on my hands.
We had a great time with all of the Halloween festivities, it was a great day! Spencer also begged me to dress up like wonder woman.. I couldn't tell him no. To say the least I was totally embarrassed, but found later as we were running from door to door with our super hero races and kicks that I didn't care what I looked like, I looked like a super hero to Spencer and he couldn't have been happier, and I was having so much fun. Why can't we always look at life through a childs eyes, it is so simple and beautiful. I think that is going to be mt new goal. I am grateful that I can be a mom, so I can learn these lessons. So ... We all had fun at the Uintah High Homecoming game with Dad and Grandpa. Spencer had fun making friends with the people sitting by us in the bleachers, and Baylie loved watching all the dancers. It was a great night.

Jake and I got to spend the whole week together at education week! He picked me up from my parents house on the motorcycle and we headed to Provo. We had so much fun spending just one on one time together, celebrating our 5 year anniversary, learning many new and wonderful ideas/things, and making goals with each other for our marriage and for the family. Thank you Tiffany and Mom for watching the kids for us so that we could go! We also got to stay with some good friends there. Thank you Howcroft's for letting us play with your family, and thanks for the amazing, yummy meals. It was so good to see you!

My mom, sister, and I took the kids to the Eden balloon festival. We were there bright and early( really bright and early!) The kids loved seeing the balloons get huge right before their eyes. We ate breakfast and watch them get blown up and take off. It was great fun!

Hello my friend!

I was able to catch up with a dear friend of mine, Brindee( We were best friends growing up.) We got together with our kids and rode the train to Salt Lake for the day! After we got done playing in the water we decided it was time to end our adventure and head back home. We had to get on the trax to get to the front runner station. Well we were loading up the strollers. I put my stroller on first and my mom and sister got on. Then went to help Brindee put her stroller on and the doors closed and off went the train. The boys decided that we were just going to have to stay there in Salt Lake. So they laid down and were just going to go to sleep . Then all the sudden Landen had an idea and Spencer said a prayer.

It went something like this, "Heavenly Father we are sorry we missed the train, please send another one so we can get home."It was the cutest thing ever. Kids are so inquisitive!

A new do?

I went to see Jocelyn in Logan and told her I was ready for something new with my hair. I told her I trusted her and that she should do what she wanted. didn't get to see it until I was done. TADA! It's a new me! A much more manageable do for a momma with lots to do. Thanks Jocelyn I love it!

Fun in the sun-at Snowbird

I got to take the kids to spend some time with my family up at Snowbird, We had a great time! I even conquered....(well not quite conquer, but softened) my my biggest fear of swimming-jumping into the deep end of a pool, I know it sounds silly, but I was absolutely terrified! Just picture it, ( my mom on one side, my brother on the other side of the deep end, with their arms outstretched, While I am standing with my knees shaking like crazy and my heart pounding out of my chest, wondering in my mind if this is really worth it. Then I hear from the balcony ahead, my kids yelling " jump mom, you can do it!" Well thanks for the encouragement! I gave my mom and brother one deep look into their eyes with the message that read loud and clear,"you better catch me. I don't want my kids to watch me drown!" Like I am really going to drown! I jumped, and it felt exhilarating! Never in my life have I done that. I did it over and over and over, that is until other adults came into the pool. Can you just see it. An adult girl jumping into the pool and yelling "Yes I did it again, and I didn't even drown." Well, I will spare you the picture of me jumping in, and share with you some other cute pictures of my darling kids!

motorcycle/camping fun!

We had a great time camping with the Bingham's. We got to see some of Jakes' dad's family history carved into the trees..what a wonderful experience. The kids enjoyed fishing, and Jake even talked me into going with them on the day motorcycle trip. Boy...was that an experience. Thank you husband for picking up my slack- up the hill!! I forgot to take pictures of my battered/bruised legs. It quite hurt to walk for the next following days. I bet I was quite the sight to watch. but it was fun and challenging! Thank you Deb for watching the kids so I could go.

A day spent with the cousins

We took the kids to aerospace museum and to a water park. We ended the day with fire in the backyard, cooking hobo dinners, hot dogs, and smores...yums! They had a blast. I also enjoyed spending the day with my Mom, Tiffany, Tacy and Josh. Thanks guys

I look forward to our get together lunch with great grandma, grandma, mom, and the girls every year. We had a great time celebrating my mom's birthday with lunch at Archibald's in Gardner Village. The kids loved the petting zoo, and they even got to ride on a horse of their choice- needles to say....they loved it we got a few YE-HAWS!

The United States Declaration of Independence is a statement adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies then at war with Great Britain were now independent states, and thus no longer a part of the British Empire. Written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration is a formal explanation of why Congress had voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain, more than a year after the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. The birthday of the United States of America—Independence Day—is celebrated on July 4, the day the wording of the Declaration was approved by Congress.

After finalizing the text on July 4, Congress issued the Declaration of Independence in several forms. It was initially published as a printed broadside that was widely distributed and read to the public. The most famous version of the Declaration, a signed copy that is usually regarded as the Declaration of Independence, is on display at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Although the document was approved on July 4, the date of its actual signing is disputed by historians, most accepting a theory that it was signed nearly a month after its adoption, on August 2, 1776, and not on July 4 as commonly believed.

The sources and interpretation of the Declaration have been the subject of much scholarly inquiry. The Declaration justified the independence of the United States by listing colonial grievances against King George III, and by asserting certain natural rights, including a right of revolution. Having served its original purpose in announcing independence, the text of the Declaration was initially ignored after the American Revolution. Its stature grew over the years, particularly the second sentence, a sweeping statement of human rights:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

This sentence has been called "one of the best-known sentences in the English language"^[2] and "the most potent and consequential words in American history".^[3] The passage has often been used to promote the rights of marginalized groups, and came to represent for many people a moral standard for which the United States should strive. This view was greatly influenced by Abraham Lincoln, who considered the Declaration to be the foundation of his political philosophy,^[4] and promoted the idea that the Declaration is a statement of principles through which the United States Constitution should be interpreted.

Jake ran the triathlon today. He did an awesome job!! I think it is so remarkable to see so many people out there being healthy and enjoying life...it rubs off on you(hopefully). I just love being a MOMMY-Yes sometimes hearing the name yelled, cried, screamed, well...you know.... all day long can get tiring, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I am so lucky that I am a mother to 3 beautiful children. To look into their faces daily is such a miracle to know the Lord trusted me enough to care for them. I love them, I love what they teach me, and I love the person I am because of them! Spencer, Baylie, and Jaxon I love you so much and am so grateful that I am your mommy!

The kidz on Easter Morning

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday, We got to spend it together as a family! Debbie Jake's mom made a wonderful passover dinner, I'm so grateful for her time and preparation she spent for us to be able to experience that. It was so neat to read the story together and eat the individual items of food as we were reminded of what they represented. I loved when we were able to open the door to the Savior and invite him in to eat with us, as there was a place set for him. The kids also got to go on a Easter egg hunt. ( I wish I would have gotten more pictures of the meal and kids on the hunt-oh well)
I am so grateful for the resurrection and for this Easter holiday to be able to spend the day thinking of that incredible event in history, and the wonderful life we are able to live because of all we have been blessed with!

A fun trip to Ogden!!

I took the kids last week to Ogden and we got to see lots of friends and family. It was a bummer we had to end early and come home because the kids were sick with ear infections and strep, so I am sorry if we got any of you that we visited sick! Thank you Jocelyn for the Haircuts!

A Navy Graduate

I got to go with Jakes Parents to see his sister Sara graduate from the Navy. It was so fun to spend time with his family and to be able to see Sara's accomplishments. Jakes dad even took me to see Medical College of Wisconsin. This is the School that we are hoping to get into. I loved it!!!!
Thank you so much Scott and Debbie for letting me come along with you. Jake I love you so much for taking the kids all by yourself the whole time and letting me go!

We had a great day celebrating Baylies Birthday! Spencer stayed up late the night before setting up her new table and chairs, drawing pictures to decorate the kitchen and put decorations up around the house, he was so excited. Baylie helped me make her birthday cake.. mmmmm she said the whole time, it was so much fun. We had family over for dinner, cake, and wrote what we love about Baylie on balloons and sent them up into the Stars(she is obsessed with stars.) We have loved having you in our family Bay.. You are such a joy to us!!
